How do I make a default filtering for a string

How do I filter all the listings in a view by default, where the value of a string field is blank?
It works for number fields but not for string fields.

As I want it to do the filtering on default, I'd ideally like the filtering to happen, instantly when the user goes to a new page (or view)>

Hello!
We've added the ability to set the initial filter value for the String field in the Link form in 6.1.8 version [download].
The phrase [empty] also works there, so use it to filter by empty string values.

Initially, editing posts was allowed on this and the Russian-language forum. But some users used it too actively, up to completely changing and deleting their messages, which made our subsequent answers incomprehensible and meaningless. So we won't allow it. Everyone does typos, it's OK, it's easy for us to correct them.
